The Darkness remain one of the best bands of the last 25 years, Justin Hawkins, not only a show man but an educator and entertainer with is Justin Hawkins Rides Again podcast.
The show was not only to showcase a new album, Dreams on toast, but also a selection of some of the bands hits across all albums.
The band have explored different sounds since 2003's Permission to Land rocketed them into the public eye, and there are some country sounds to this tour with opener Rock and Roll Party Cowboy lending to this sound with the bands Rock coolness in evidence.
Whilst dropping back to Permission's Growing on Me and Get Your Hands off my woman, there was lots of intrigue from the Alternation team regarding the new tracks, with the album already enjoying several plays.
This is the bands best work and Longest Kiss played mid set, was probably my favourite track from it.
The band always retain a sense of humour on stage, and despite it being a warm spring evening "don't let the bells end" first verse bought out lots of smiles
only a shorter 2 song encore where Justin ended up in the crowd were preceeded by indoor fireworks, I Believe in a Thing called Love and a cover of Led Zepplins immigrant song.
The Darkness never disappoint and we hope to see them again soon, full set list below.
