EVIL SCARECROW @ THE WATERFRONT NORWICH 18/7/2026 WITH RECALL THE REMAINS

Evil Scarecrow return to Norwich for the first time in five years during their “Shred the Evidence” tour, serving as a series of “warmup shows” before their mainstage appearance at Bloodstock Open Air 2026.

Recall the Remains:

Coming from the West Midlands, from a town that to quote on quote their vocalist “you’ve probably drove through it”, we have Recall the Remains warming up the Norwich crowd. These guys had an interesting mix of early 2000s style Metalcore, with a frontman with the vocal style that of Will Ramos (Lorna Shore), it does give that style some more strength vocally to that Metalcore sound they provide. From start to finish their showmanship and stage presence was on point, and it shows from first impressions that this band will give 110% into their performance without fail. Plenty of neck using and insanely high kicks so high that they were almost reaching the relatively high ceiling of The Waterfront, along with some comedic like stage banter from their frontman whilst both guitarists bless the ears of Norwich with guitar solos. Prior to their performance, people had told me that this band has quite the strong presence and reputation in the UK Metal Scene, upon watching them it clearly shows that this band has really locked in on their chemistry both musically and in a performance stance.

Evil Scarecrow:

Going into this performance, I had no idea what to expect. But seeing the props being setup as Evil Scarecrow embarks to the stage gave me somewhat of an idea. It was very eye-opening to witness all the crazy antics, costumes and props unfold right before me during every single moment. Robots had the whole crowd performing the robot with the band, a green bin in the centre of the stage, even a rather large moon and a “goth moth” which had Norwich making a circle pit around said moon and “goth moth”. During songs the banter between the band and crowd was unlike no other, there was no absence of old ol’ British humour along with absurd words that I cannot quote on this article, but I assume you can connect the dots here, and of course EGGS!!! 

Oh, and I cannot leave out the Hurricanado which featured spectacular scenes from the crowd. The band offered “free DVD’s” to the individual who could spin the most during their song “Hurricanado”, leaving one crowd member almost spinning themselves out. Save to say they surely won that DVD, and it was a real DVD of James Martin with their guitarist (Count Gravediga) face on the cover instead, I didn’t think they’d have a DVD on the ready but to my surprise they did. There is much more I can say about this but instead I’ll say to you, if Evil Scarecrow arrive in your town, go and see them. They offer excellent musicianship and a belly laughing performance that will have your eyes welling up with tears from the tomfoolery that they provide along with the great tunes from their 20 yearlong discography.
