Delilah Bon – Real Name, Lauren Tate, is the Yorkshire born former Singer for punk/Riot Girl influenced Hands Off Gretel
It was during the Pandemic that Lauren made the choice to take her music in a different direction and embark on the next stage of her Career as Delilah, Giving her the chance to send her empowering and positive message behind her music.
The upstairs venue at the Waterfront was sold out for the show, and with Halloween having been recent there could not have been a better choice.
Support cam from American Ti.L.Lie, who ran through stories and anecdotes amongst her 9 song set. She made reference to how musicians struggle with finance in a world where streaming doesn’t always pay fairly and thanked those in attendance for coming.
The main set of course was as rowdy as has come to be expected from Ms Bon, a commanding stage presence and a set that had elements of rock, punk, grunge and hip hop, with dancers on stage entertaining despite the small area to work in.
There were no Hands Off Gretel songs during this set, but with a decent back catalogue of songs and some newer titles there was enough to whet the palette of fans both of older work and the current sound.
The waterfront Venue has a larger stage downstairs capable of holding around 1000 people, and with this show selling out the smaller 160 capacity upstairs studio, the next time Delilah brings the show to town, would be no surprise to see the lower stage sell out also.
