Hi Jess!

First up, amazing news on getting the slot at Latitude, great work! How did this come about?

I casually mentioned to some friends it was a lifelong dream to play at Latitude, "I'm gonna be on that stage some day!" - turns out they had a workshop at Latitude and could get me, It really was a "holy shit no way!" moment for me.

I'm a hoop and staff circus performer and dressed in crazy outfits for a walk about in the kids area with the sole intention to wiggle my way onto a stage, at first i managed to wiggle my way onto the Zen stage, not many people about and played a couple of songs between sets -I was lucky enough to see an act called Calvin Decline at the Trailer stage section, I asked if could use their mic and stage when they were taking a break - they agreed! I drew a crowd and the stage manager really loved my work.

I did a rap to music when a nearby rig started up, After the set I got to go backstage and met some people, played to them and one of the people involved with stage wanted to know where he could hear more of me.

I know I was much better live than my recorded stuff at the time and so i said "sure, right here right now!" had the guitar with me - they liked me, but had a rule of Only bands on the stage! they said get a band together and we'll book you for the stage in 2025, I got the band together but they never looked at us.

I contacted the Zen Stage and they booked me as a solo act, I'm really excited to be there!

What day will you be playing and what stage can we all come and see you?

I will be playing the Zen Stage on the Friday at 6pm! Come and see me rock the place!

You started off writing your own music and working as a solo artist, but now have a band called Circle of Heretic working alongside you, how does this change creative process if at all?

I've been solo, and a singer song writer pretty much all of my life, I've always been musical even before I could write.

I'd always envisioned myself in a band but couldn't really find people as dedicated as I was to the project, I write constantly, as a flow, this doesn't change. Now, though I can take these songs to the band and we can flesh them out together.

It brings together what I hear in my head and makes it sound so full, like it's always been, but its more than that with these creative individual souls joining as one in the process

I go to them with a vision, we'll have a discussion on sound and they work to make it "more and better" with me, something amazing happens and we can then take the elements we love and add bits, modify them and come up with something even better!

We work to transcribe the sounds in my head.

Lets talk releases! We are just days away from 'I want to live', your first single! What can we expect from it when it releases? We’re certainly stoked to hear it, where can people check it out?

Everywhere! Spotify, ITunes, Tidal, Amazon. I'm also going to personally put it up on Bandcamp and Sound Cloud

We've got a music video coming out which we're currently editing , it's a raw and stripped back video but equally colourful and poetic visuals - not too long to wait now!

5. so.. does this mean an album and tour are on the horizon? Finally, we like a musical fact here! Did you know that in 1927 Blind Willie McTell recorded a song called “I got the cross the River Jordan” the first EVER recording of an electric guitar, the song exists still and can be heard here - https://open.spotify.com/track/4vqDFur1cyE8lS1oD3XiCB?si=d875a498fe564b93 true musical History captured forever! What fact can you share with us?

 Joan Jett is a Badass!

We agree! if you are heading to Latitude this weekend be sure to give the Circus of Heretics a look, Tell them we sent you!
