Consecration Album Launch at Voodoo Daddy's with Support - Tomb Slab and Smouldering Tomb 13th June 2026

Tonight I am back at the wonderful Voodoo Daddy's for a special night thanks to Phage Records. Tonight is the album launch show for Consecration.  This is a band I have been following for over 10 years. My earliest gig memory of seeing these guys is back at the King Eddy in 2013. It was a honour to be able to cover tonight.

Supporting these Norwich legends we had 2 great death metal bands.  First up was Tomb Slab from Nottingham. They entertained us with dirty grimmy bass and groovy beats.  The vocalist involved right in with the crowd, at one point walking amongst screaming so we were all fully immersed.

The audience is headbanging throughout.

They also have some slower doomy moments.

Excellent way to start the night, strong energy really got the crowd moving.

Smouldering Tomb, death metal from Brighton next on.  They have an atmospheric intro leading into powerful female screaming and guttural vocals.  The audience is really moving with much headbanging.  There's great interaction between the band members as they own the stage.

They have heavy riffs and quick beats really heightening the atmosphere of the night.

Then we had the headliner themselves playing the entirety of their new album 'Exanimis', Consecration, doom band from our own city of Norwich.  And wow, was so good to see them again toinght, they are as playing as tight and powerful as ever.

Opening the new album is 'Herald of Darkness with epic strong riffs.

I really enjoyed the middle of the album and clearly the crowd did too with much stomping, headbanging and movement to 'Domain of Despair' and 'Harvester Forsaken'.

There is wonderful technical guitar, chuggy riffs, great classic doom.  With much hair flying throughout the pit.

'Cold grey stone' is a powerful closing track for 'Exanimis'. 

Even after a bonus track the crowd is demanding more and Consecration delivered.  What a night, sooo good to see them again and such a dedicated fan base.  True Norwich doom!  Check out their new album HERE.
