Today I'm reviewing the incredible Live Album release for Napierdalać. Napierdalać are a symphonic blackened death metal band from Manchester, first formed in 2021.  I had the pleasure witnessing a live performance myself at The Fulford Arms this month. Such an amazing show, the band demonstrating great skill of musical and performance talent. What then impressed me further was the fact this show was the first live show with this line up, with the vocalist only joining a month ago. Goes to show their dedication to the art.

The album I'm reviewing today is being released to mark the end of an era of their previous line-up with the release of “LIVE FROM YORK MMXXVI”, due on the 10/07/2026. With previous vocalist, Bill, moving to the blasts of the drums.

They open with an atmospheric intro which you can hear is getting the crowd ready for what is to come. Then into 'The Love Waltz Duet', fast blast beats, screaming vocals and heavy riffs, this fast-paced track really brings the energy up. You can feel yourself automatically headbanging along to it, with crowd interaction heard from the start. The symphonic tones really add great depth to this already powerful track.

Next up is 'Drums of War' with strong quick beats, harmonious backing vocals, quick picking high tempo riffs and raw screams. Then into further blast beats of 'Blood Renaissance', very atmospheric, sounds like it could be part of a movie soundtrack for something apocalyptic. Clashing cymbals with the heavy riffs of guitar and bass and the strong vocals really make this a stand out track, along with a terrific guitar solo.

The speed doesn't let up for 'Mylings', this one really encourages you to get your stomp on as it builds. The tightness of the bands playing is so impressive as the harmony of the riffs and the blast beats are spot on.
A haunting intro to 'To Crown a Pale Horse', this slower intro is wonderfully atmospheric as it builds into skilled riffs, beats and screams.

The crowd is heard screaming for more with 'DNR', this powerful track has high pitched riffs, fast paced beats and screams delivered at speed.
The penultimate track (with my favourite name), 'Sex Addicted Vampires', has great synth sounds which I love, mixing with the heavy riffs, really making you want to move your head, such a full sound.

'Feasting Upon the Corpse of the Lord' is the final track, heavy riffs lead into added heavy beats and speed screaming. Darkly atmospheric as well a very heavy song to end on, a great demonstration of all their skills. The richness of what each member brings cannot be stated enough, fantastic performance, cannot wait to see them again and what they are working on next.
