Today I’m reviewing the latest track by Child of Sorrow – In Hinderance of Man, this year is the time the band has released any new tracks in 5 years. Following a very special charity gig raising money for MIND at the Music Rooms in Ipswich, Child of Sorrow, returns this October, this time in Camden at The Fiddler’s Elbow on Thursday 29th just before Halloween.
To get ready for this upcoming gig I am delighted to have had the opportunity to review this new track and there will also be an upcoming interview soon.
‘In Hinderance of Man’ has a powerful deep start, pushing through the foggy heaviness as the music builds. Raw rasping vocals cut through as the manic beats as the drum drive through. As the guitar then builds after the first minute into frantic drums and desperate tortured cries, you can feel the darkness looming in this track. The uncomfortable tone of the guitars keep you feeling at unease along with the synth as it ends unsettlingly, until finally into comfort of the rain.
There’s interesting things ahead for this act, watch this space.
