Tonight we have black/death metal coming to Dead Wax Norwich with Ceremonial Bloodbath all the way from Canada and Cryptworm from Bristol.
Ceremonial Bloodbath have some great lyrical themes including the occult, demons and the supernatural so I'm already very intrigued.
Cryptworm have been said to have created their own genre 'deathfunk' (see interview here - Interview - Cryptworm). I've been excited to hear this live.
Supporting tonight is Plagued, from East of England, ready to start the night with some old-school death metal with a modern twist.
Plagued enter the stage and we are straight in with incredibly fast paced riffs, beats and aggressive raw vocals.
Very quick blast beats and powerful riffs fill the room. There are also dark doomy elements. This has set us up for a mighty evening.
Then we have Cryptworm, who live up to their given genre of death funk, with groovy riffs, deep vocals and fast paced drumming. There is a dark atmosphere that also feels like a party.
Brutal themes delivered with a fun vibe and the crowd loves it.
Ceremonial Bloodbath have great aesthetic with unique outfits that are a nod to black metal. Beautifully dark and doomy components yet quick paced.
Powerful dual dynamic on vocals
Incredible movement and speed with a pit that doesn't quit. They are incredibly heavy with elements of doom with gnarly death vocals and sludgy riffs.
Wow, now that was a Tuesday night, what a show, incredible, powerful line up.
