New Music: How she's got it - Noir Addicition show their quality in this awesome new package!

Alternative-industrial rockers Noir Addiction present their new single “How She’s Got It”, a brooding and introspective track that dives into emotional ambiguity, desire, and quiet disillusionment. Built on a foundation of pulsing electronics, shadowy textures, and restrained intensity, the song captures the feeling of reaching for something that constantly slips out of grasp, where love, identity, and perception blur into something uncertain and unresolved.

With its layered lyrics and hypnotic repetition, “How She’s Got It” explores the tension between fascination and detachment. The track moves through fragments of memory and shifting emotional states, reflecting on connection, distance, and the subtle erosion of belief. Rather than offering resolution, the song embraces ambiguity, allowing vulnerability and cool indifference to coexist.

Emerging with a raw, industrial-tinged soul, Noir Addiction is a powerhouse trio that harnesses a dark, heavy aesthetic against a backdrop of classic rock ’n’ roll grit. Founded by Sonny Lanegan, who handles vocals, guitars, synthesizers, and programming, the band is rounded out by drummer Roberto Catanzaro and Nessie Zorba on keyboards and percussion. A seasoned musician and producer, Lanegan’s creative vision was shaped in Los Angeles’ high-octane music scene, where he honed his experimental style as singer-songwriter for White Pulp and co-founder of The Dead Good.

“‘How She’s Got It’ is about that moment when something or someone loses its meaning, but you’re still caught in it,” says Sonny Lanegan. “In the song, you’re observing, questioning, maybe even letting go, but at the same time you’re still drawn to it. That push and pull is what drives the whole track.”

“It’s not really about a person it’s about perception. How we project meaning onto things, how that meaning shifts, and how sometimes we just stop believing in it. The repetition in the chorus almost feels like trying to convince yourself of something, while knowing deep down it’s already gone.”

“When we recorded it, the focus wasn’t on impact it was on distance,” Lanegan explains. “We approached the track almost like a fading memory, something that feels real while you’re inside it but starts to lose definition the more you look at it. The arrangement was intentionally built to feel circular, like you’re stuck in the same thought pattern, going over the same questions without ever getting a clear answer.”

“We leaned into repetition and subtle shifts instead of big moments. Small changes in texture and slight variations in vocal delivery carry the emotional weight. The idea was to create a sense of emotional drift, where everything feels close but unreachable at the same time. Nothing fully resolves, and that’s intentional. It leaves you in that suspended state the lyrics are coming from.”

Based in Italy, Noir Addiction continues to carve out a distinctive space in the alternative scene, blending dark rock, industrial textures, and a sense of cinematic introspection. Their sound thrives on contrasts melodic yet abrasive, intimate yet distant—creating an atmosphere that feels both immediate and elusive.

Sonny Lanegan brings years of studio and production experience to the project, with a background that includes work in Los Angeles’ music scene and collaborations across multiple genres. His work has been featured in American television, contributing to the evolution of Noir Addiction’s polished yet emotionally raw sound.
