Words by BeckyKat Kaptures
Today I'm reviewing the upcoming album by Dark Divine - Undead Melody, up and coming metalcore band really taking the scene by storm.
Opening title track 'Undead Melody' features catchy riffs and lyrics. It's a good strong start to the album.
'Midnight Masquerade' has blast beats opening the track along with speedy screams and riffs. This moves into an incredibly catchy chorus.
There's a steady build up for 'Fading Away', then into the chorus which is powerfully screamed out.
'Permanent' has a slow build up with beautiful emotive lyrics.
Heavy riffs, screams and catchy rhythms make up the track of 'Better Start Digging'.
Moving it up a beat, 'Sinfestation' features catchy lyrics and has a dance feel in its delivery.
'Temporary Paradise' is a softer track with dreamy singing and only a little screaming. The slower number for the album.
Gradual build up into heavy riffs, beats and screams make up 'Halloweentown II', and of course it's great as it's about Halloween.
'Freakshow' opens with a spooky circus vibe. And includes pipe organ sounds, with heavy riffs and bouncy memorable lyrics.
Heavy riffs and beats to begin this track, with emotive lyrics forming 'Half Past Dead (unbury me)' into the powerful number that it is.
'The Void' is a heavy track with blast beats and screams, very fast paced.
Slowing it down with more clean vocals, steady beats and riffs for 'Make me Disappear'.
For the final track we have a clever title of 'This is not the End (it only feels like it is)', which finishes on strong riffs and vocals.
Overall a solid metalcore album for these rising stars of the scene.
