Review - Skynd - Manchester Academy 10th April 2026

I'm in Manchester tonight and very excited. The atmosphere is something to behold as we all wait with bated breath.

Skynd are the only band performing tonight, the doors were at 7:30pm and they're on at 9pm. Everyone I speak to is buzzing with excitement as we share our love of this unique band.

Eerie music growls in the background as the room fills with people and expectation.   I was absolutely thrilled to be able to cover this.

I've been following Skynd for years and last time I saw them was at their first headline show at Electowerkz in London (just checked the year 2019! Definitely been too long!)  Skynd mix 2 of my passions industrial rock and true crime.

Her unique voice and Father's multi-instrumental skills with such dark lyrical content make this band one of my personal favourites.  They come on stage with huge applause and straight into Michelle Carter.

They play song after song never losing vigour.  The crowd really get into Arwin Meiwes, singing along.  Same with Richard Ramírez, with people also dancing along.  Then absolutely amazing for the North we are treated to previously unheard new track, Jimmy Saville.

As we all sing to along to Aileen Wuronos, never have I heard so many people cry out 'Oh John, oh John, oh John look what you have done!'  Tyler Hadley gets everyone moving and she ends the night with epic new song Mikhail Popkov.

Wow, what an incredible experience and wonderful first time in Manchester. Definitely want to come back here, lovely people, great place and absolute honour to be able to shoot Skynd
