 Dark Diversions - Mad Cat - 24th April 2026

Tonight I'm back at The Mad Cat and this Friday night we have the epically gifted eclectic musical duo, Dark Diversions.  Will and Dandelion are both amazingly talented, multi-lingual and Dandelion is also a multi-instrumentalist.

They wow us tonight by taking us on a journey through a diverse range of genres with originals and covers.

I loved the cover of Alice Cooper's Poison.
A Horse with No Name by America was a beautiful cover with the addition of the flute.

We got taken on a journey by a beautiful original song about Crows that the duo wrote while travelling through France, it has a wonderful Celtic vibe.
There was the most beautiful rendition of The Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper with amazing flute playing.

Then we had a personal favourite of mine as they covered KoRn's Freak on a Leash.

Such high energy singing and running about the pub during Cat Empire's The Wine Song.

The Automatic's, What's That Coming Over the Hill, got the whole bar singing.

There was a specially requested beautifully but not so joyful original 'Song of Joy', this really shows off their incredible talents.

Another special request was Sonne by Rammstein, so incredibly to hear French and German as well as English tonight.

Another personal favourite of mine tonight, Snuff by Slipknot, so beautifully done.

Finishing the night with much dancing, clapping, almost a full taranta (dancing hysteria) taking over the bar.

What an absolutely delightful evening, highly recommend, Dark Diversions and the Mad Cat a collab I want to see again.
