Review - Vast Slug, Eyes of a Nihilist, Fracture and Bleak at Voodoo Daddy's Showroom, May 22nd 2026

So tonight was a lot of fun, I met the Vast Slug guys beforehand to do an interview (coming soon). Such a fun bunch of guys, will not be suitable for work, they match my own dark sense of humour.
There was a full crowd at Voodoo Daddy's with the air sparking with anticipation before the first band came on.
To begin tonight we had Bleak, deathcore and 'thrall'. They immediately bring the audience to the front who do not hesitate to comply. They have heavy riffs, steady beats, a good backing track which is in places, along with guttural vocals intersected with clean. This band is high energy with heavy breakdowns.
Everyone is already really moving with a pit gaining momentum.
Fracture are up next, they are deathcore with very heavy riffs, blast beats, screams and squeals with doomy elements.
Everyone keeps on moving, with much headbanging and a large pit opened and took over the room.
Towards the end of their set they asked everyone with lights on their phone to join them on stage as they continued their next song. Then an epic pit opened as they drove in. Fantastic way to finish.
Penultimately to take the stage is Eyes of a Nihilist, thrall/deathcore who are high energy from start with very heavy and chuggy riffs. Their guitarist jumps in to join the pit at one point.
The vocals are growls and screams and the bass is deep. The power during their set is impressive with huge pits and repeated encouragements for 'wall of death'.
Our headliners tonight, Vast Slug, Grindcore and hilarious. Vocalist, Ed, changing into a Mega Lolz tee especially to perform shows their dark humour (I remember selling waaayyy too many of these before, well ya know).
They go for quick heavy track with brutal screams and do not stop moving.
A couple of stand outs were the lovely Chris Beniot's Family Values and Does Anyone Really Need a Drummer (a good nod to their backing track, aka the drummer).
The crowd loves them, with the pit not letting up and everyone cheering to the end with a wonderful cover of We Like to Party (The Vengabus).
What a night, highly recommend, great workout, great bands and great dark fun!
