Hello, Thank you so much for joining us for this interview.
You're a local band, are you all Norwich locals?

Hey there, Thank you for having us!
Jade is based in Cambridge, Tim from Luton, Grant is a North Londoner, Kieron is from around here and myself from Glasgow. I Lived in Cambridge on and off throughout the years eventually moving to this fine City in December 2019.

Is this your first Wild Paths?
What are you most looking forward to this year?

It's our first time playing Wild Paths! I think the prospect of playing in the middle
of a skate ramp in a 15th century church alongside a bunch of other insanely
cool bands has us beyond excited. We feel very lucky to be able to take part
this year. Too many cool bands and artists to mention but to share a few,
check out Kulk (5pm/Sat 18th/Same venue as us!), Takeda (6:15pm/Sat 18th/St. Andrew's Brewhouse),
Behind The Sun Collective (7:20pm/Thurs 16th/St Laurence Church)
and Maddie Ashman (8.20pm/Fri 17th/J Doe & Co).

That does sound amazing, and such there is such a good line up, the selection of venues is brilliant.  I think you are playing the most unique, bet will be loads of fun.

Do you have a favourite type of venue to play?

Not really, we'll play anywhere! But we love any opportunity to play somewhere
a little more unique like a converted church! I think it would be our ultimate
dream to play outside in nature really, better yet in an actual forest.
We would thrive in such an environment.

In a forest would be so cool, have a look at Rotten Stones festival, it's in Luxenbourg and you play in a cave in a forest, it's awesome.

I love your band name, where did this come from?

Naming a thing is hard, I'd come up with so many and written a few lists.
But nothing felt right. It wasn't until my partner put two of the names
I'd written down together Bird and Witch, Birdwitch! So really the credit goes to Bradley James, who designed all of our merch so far as well as the EP cover.

Also your self described genre of Dream Violence is beautiful, what inspires this?

Initially a dear friend of ours inspired the name (Harry Nott, Vocalist of Burner) and it kinda stuck? Dream Violence comes from a place of stark opposites/contrasts.
Light and dark/shade, roaring thunder and enduring blissful sunshine,
life and death...And the otherworld in between. This phrase encapsulates
it all nicely.

What do you think is essential for a good gig?

Sleep! Speaking as a vocalist, if I don't get a sufficient amount of rest it can affect my vocals and overall energy for the night. In the lead up to a gig I'll often go to bed a little earlier to prepare. Not going on stage with a full stomach as well, but I'm not sure this is the same for all of us?
An interactive crowd helps too, whether it is headbanging or just getting into it's always so lovely to see, we feed off that kind of energy? Whenever the crowd gets into it,
I think we become a lot more chaotic on the whole, in a good sense?

I get that, you need initial energy, food and sleep, then the energy of the crowd to you going, and who doesn't thrive best in chaos?

Whats coming up for you in the next year?

We plan on putting a lot more time and energy into writing our first full length album over the next year, so a healthy balance between gigs and writing mainly.
We have some very exciting gigs coming up that we can't quite reveal just yet!
