Adult DVD Interview Ready for Upcoming Wild Paths Festival 2025.
Words by BeckyKat Kaptures and Adult DVD
Next in our series of Wild Paths interviews we have Harry, the lead vocals and synth of Adult DVD.
Are you looking forward to Wild Paths?
Yeah for sure, the line up's stacked + there's also a load of our friends playing, so I'm sure we will have a good time.
Have you played here before?
No, this will be our first time playing in Norwich!
We're thrilled to have you!
So, your band name, firstly I made the mistake of Googling you guys without putting band after, oops. In light of that, why Adult DVD? It's an awesome but difficult to search band name, ha ha.
The name comes from a drawing Greg (synth / vocals) did which we had hung up at our old studio, in Leeds.
It was a black and white drawing of an old sex shop that sold dodgy dvd's (and the rest). We were coming up with a load of band names, but kept coming back to 'Adult DVD'. And after a google, surprisingly it wasn't taken.
That's awesome, it's definitely a very unique band name and one that is not to be forgotten.
What inspires you as a band?
Lyrically - anything and everything. We don't really write anything from our point of view, instead the majority of the songs are just made up scenarios. It's fun to write that way as you don't have to be confessional or lean to somber lyrics, there's plenty of other bands for that. Instead, you can just be as stupid as you want with the words.
That sounds really fun, a proper escape from the day to day.
Do you have any gig day rituals?
Not really, I think just making sure 6 people are by the stage when we need to be is a task in itself.
What's your musical must haves?
A 303, it's my favourite synth.
If you could play anywhere, where would it be?
Other than Norwich, I would say Japan.
What's coming up for you after Wild Paths?
We have just announced a UK/IE Tour for February 2026, which people can grab tickets for now!
That's amazing! Please do go see Adult DVD, playing Wild Paths on Saturday 18th October at 9:25pm at Voodoo Daddies and then all over the UK and Ireland next year.
