Thank you so much for joining for this interview, appreciate you've had a very busy weekend.

So firstly I have to say, awesome band name. I'm guessing you guys are a lot of fun.
How did the band name come about and does it have a specific meaning for you all?

I thought about spinning a yarn about dropping acid in a druid circle at midnight on a solstice or something like that, but truth is our drummer's girlfriend at the time came up with it.

Best I could come up with before that was Topless Bar Maids, so yeah, Reverse Cowboys, I think it works quite well though because it's kind of a bit cheeky and it's a bit kind of striking in a way I suppose.
Which I think kind of represents the band quite well in that sense as well.

What inspires your songs and musical style?

A lot of songs are inspired by just general life for us really.  With frustrations, the fun bits as well, and just sort of little snippets of every day life.  Some stuff's a bit lighter, lighthearted and fun, other stuff's a little bit darker in it's content and core meaning.
A lot of influence also comes from what we all love, like punk stuff from the 70s and 90s grunge stuff.  Everything from Led Zeppelin to Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, the list is as long as you can keep writing until your hand falls off really.

Have you played Wild Paths before?
What did you enjoy most?

This was our first one and it was bloody good fun as well.  We had a lovely time.  I think one of the cool things for use was that we played at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon on the Saturday so it allowed us to be anywhere after that.  So we could go venue to venue and check out other bands and hit the piss, have a laugh and just enjoy the festival.  Kind of punters if you know what I mean, rather than performers.  Real good fun.

That is awesome, good to be able to enjoy it as well.

Do you have certain routines for gigs you all like to do?

Recently we have taken to doing a mini aerobic session together backstage before going on.  Like some stretches and stuff, it's a bit of a laugh but does kind of help.  It kind of keeps us loose and it's not as much of a shock to the system when we start throwing ourselves around on the stage then.
That's the recent thing and usually have a beer and a chat and just hang out really.

That all sounds perfect, great combination before a show.

What's your favourite things about festivals?

The main thing I love about festivals is that you just tend to get a real variety of stuff.  When you've got a set-up where there's multiple stages and there's lots of different people from all over the country, the world even, depending on what festival you're at.  The variety is one the favoutire things that we like cos we like a lot of different kinds of music.  Not just punk hard or rock, we're into soul, blues, hip-hop, depressing acoustic songs that make you want to cry, that sort of shit, we love it.  We love everything, so yeah, variety I think is a big thing for us at festivals.

If you could plan any gig with who and what you liked what would that look like?

That would look like The Reverse Cowboys with support from Amourette at Voodoo Daddy's Showroom on say the 16th January 2026.  I think it would look a lot like that if we were going to organise a gig right now. That would be the one, that's it, right there.

Ooooo...going to keep an eye out for that.

What's coming up for you in the next year?

That's a bloody good question.  I've applied for a few festivals, got a few bookings for next year, not loads.
We're looking at booking and heading out on a UK tour, whether we'll headline or pick up some support slots I don't know but we've already got some stuff booked in Brighton and some Norwich bits, few bits in countryside areas of East Anglia.
We'll be looking at getting out and about and getting on the road and trying to play some cool gigs, visit some cool shit and have a nice time.

Amazing, looking forward to seeing you guys at a gig soon.
