Vanity Fairy Interview Ready for Upcoming Wild Paths Festival 2025.
Words by BeckyKat Kaptures and Vanity Fairy
Third in our series of Wild Paths interviews, artist, Vanity Fairy.
How are you?
Sleep deprived and confused, always! Thanks for asking. How are you?
I know the feeling, I am excited to be doing these interviews, it's so great talking to such wonderful people like yourself.
Are you looking forward to Wild Paths? Is it your first time playing this festival?
I've played it a couple times before and it's always fabulous!
Your musical tastes are much more centered in the 80s and 70s, what draws you to these decades? What do you prefer about these times to now?
I love the melodies, production choices, and everything about the aesthetics of those decades in general.
What's been your top musical moment so far?
A few actually. Every time someone comes up to me at the end of a show to speak to me and say lovely things - it's really special; supporting The Last Dinner Party at Hammersmith Apollo and being played on 6 Music to name a few.
What's your favourite thing about playing a festival?
Giving the crowd a great time!
Do you have anything you need to do/wear for a show?
I'm a creature of habit and I love routines! I always have to have a nap, do some vocal warm ups, do my makeup, eat some food, drink some coffee and get dressed up in one of the sequined kaftans my amazing friend makes for me.
That all sounds, amazing, and what a great friend.
What's coming up for you in the year ahead?
I'm releasing a new single October 28th and then my EP in November, and playing lots of live shows, including supporting Get Down Services on some of their tour dates in November.
Oh wow, lots coming up, all sounds awesome and lots of fun.
You can see Vanity Fairy Friday 17th October at 5pm in St. Lawrence's Church.
